Wandlore

Wandlore is the old and complex branch of magic concerned with the history, powers and behaviour of wands, which are treated as partly sentient tools. It was studied by wandmakers such as Garrick Ollivander and Mykew Gregorovitch and by powerful wizards including Albus Dumbledore. A wand is said to choose its owner, and its wood and core both shape how it works.
