Background
Harry Potter has a nightmare in which a Muggle caretaker is murdered at the Riddle House after overhearing a plot by Lord Voldemort and Peter Pettigrew, and after the Quidditch World Cup the Death Eaters attack the campsite. At Hogwarts the Triwizard Tournament brings students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons; Fleur Delacour, Viktor Krum and Cedric Diggory are chosen, and the Goblet unexpectedly names Harry too, binding him to compete.
The tasks send the champions past a dragon for an egg and into the Black Lake to rescue someone they value. Ron falls out with Harry over the entry, Hermione goes to the Yule Ball with Viktor, and Harry finds Bartemius Crouch dead in the Forbidden Forest before seeing Barty Crouch Jr. named in a Pensieve memory.
Within five days of release it had taken over $102 million in North America, and its $895 million worldwide made it the highest-grossing film of 2005. It received an Academy Award nomination for Best Art Direction and the BAFTA for Best Production Design.
