Eddie is a symbiotic creature in the Guilty Gear series. The assassin Zato-1 let Eddie live in him in exchange for his sight, which let Zato-1 control his own shadow and use it as a weapon.

Lore & Background
With that power Zato-1 made himself leader of the Assassins Guild. As his body weakened, Eddie took control of it, until Zato-1 was killed by Millia Rage.
From Guilty Gear XX onward Eddie controls Zato-1's body, a change made after the death of Zato-1's voice actor Kaneto Shiozawa. Eddie's name is seen as a reference to Eddie Brock, who also has a symbiotic partner.
