Asuka R. Kreutz, the Gear Maker, created the Gears. He was long thought to be "That Man" and the main antagonist of the Guilty Gear games, until Xrd revealed his past and how he was made a scapegoat.

He was an apprentice of the Original, now Happy Chaos, and was entrusted with the Tome of Origin, which he fused into his body.
He gave two powers to Fredrick and Aria, and came to regret it when Aria's transformation into Justice led to the Crusades.
