Kimblee, in full Major Solf J. Kimblee and known as the Crimson Lotus Alchemist, is a sadistic State Alchemist in Fullmetal Alchemist with an artist's taste for destruction, who claps his tattooed palms together and turns anything he touches into a bomb.

Background

He made his name in the Ishbalan Civil War by slaughtering Ishbalans and levelling villages, and was trusted with an imperfect Philosopher's Stone, which he used to wipe out Scar's family. When the war ended he killed the officers who tried to take the stone back and went to prison.

The homunculi later free him to hunt Scar and retrieve Tim Marcoh, and to stir up a war on the Drachman border that will complete the Nationwide Transmutation Circle, posing as a defector so that Drachma's troops are led to slaughter at Briggs. After freeing Pride from the dome Hohenheim trapped him in, Kimblee is fatally wounded by his former chimera subordinates and absorbed by Pride, yet his will survives inside the homunculus's stone long enough to stop Pride taking over Edward's body.

Outside a fight he is courteous and fond of debating morals; he despises hypocrisy and respects anyone who holds to their principles in the face of death. In the first anime he instead escapes prison, joins Greed, defects to Frank Archer and dies at Scar's hands in Lior. Yūji Ueda and Hiroyuki Yoshino voice him in the two Japanese series, Eric Vale in English, and Yuki Yamada plays him in the live-action films.
