Bagheera is a black panther and Mowgli's best friend, depicted as less wise and strict than in other adaptations; most animals avoid him, and he often fights Shere Khan. He was voiced by Sam Gold in seasons 1–2 and Abe Goldfarb in season 3, with Rajesh Kava as his first Hindi voice. Baloo is a Himalayan brown bear who serves as Mowgli's strict but wise mentor, likes honey and singing, is bipedal, wears glasses, and enjoys telling jungle stories. He was voiced by Jimmy Hibbert in seasons 1–2 and David Wills in season 3, with Mayur Vyas as his first Hindi voice. Kaa is an Indian python who is moody and feared, yet sort of friends with Mowgli, Bagheera, and Baloo; voiced by Joseph J. Terry in seasons 1–2 and Billy Bob Thompson in season 3. Akela is an elderly Indian wolf and leader of the Seeonee Wolf Pack, father of Daruka, father-in-law of Raksha, and grandfather of Lali, Bala, and Phaona; voiced by Joseph J. Terry in seasons 1–2, with Manish Bhawan as his first Hindi voice. Daruka is the mate of Raksha, father of Lali and Bala, and adoptive father of Mowgli; voiced by Aaron Albertus in seasons 1–2. Raksha is Daruka's mate, mother of Lali and Bala, and adoptive mother of Mowgli; she is patient and motherly but can be stern. Lali is the daughter of Daruka and Raksha, older sister of Bala, and adoptive sister of Mowgli; she is sweet and caring but protective and rebellious; voiced by Emma Tate in seasons 1–2. Bala is the son of Daruka and Raksha, younger brother of Lali, and adoptive brother of Mowgli; he is brave, loyal, and competitive, often getting into trouble; voiced by Teresa Gallagher in seasons 1–2, with Swapnil Kumari as his Hindi voice.
