Little Shop
A teenage boy and his giant talking plant.
Little Shop is an animated musical fantasy comedy television series that aired on Saturday mornings on the Fox Kids TV network in 1991. It follows a teenage boy and his giant talking plant, based on Roger Corman's 1960 comedy horror film and incorporating elements of the Off-Broadway musical. The series toned down the horror elements of earlier versions for a children's audience.

Synopsis
Self-proclaimed nerd Seymour Krelborn, an adolescent boy working in a flower shop, is friends with a talking Venus flytrap named Junior. Junior sprouted from a 200-million-year-old seed and can talk and hypnotize people, abilities known only to Seymour. The shop is owned by stodgy Mr. Mushnik, whose daughter Audrey is Seymour's love interest, though she is unaware of his feelings. Buck-toothed bully Paine Driller targets Seymour. Episodes focus on pubescent exploits, feature a moral, and include at least two musical numbers per episode. Junior raps in a hip-hop dialect, and a trio of singing flowers also appears.
Differences between the film and series
Each episode includes a musical segment. The young human characters are thirteen years old and in junior high. Junior is friendlier and more well-intentioned than his counterparts in the 1960 movie or musical, though still somewhat rude. He was reanimated from a prehistoric Earth seed dormant for over 200 million years, rather than being extraterrestrial. He rarely and only offscreen feasts on human blood. Junior retains hypnotic abilities and can telekinetically manipulate plants and plant-based objects. Audrey is Mr. Mushnik's daughter and a bow-wearing brunette. Paine Driller replaces the sadistic dentist Orin Scrivello.
