Cast and characters

The cast of characters in this kingdom includes Jimmy of Orange, a squire who goes by Jimmy (short for James) and is the son of Henri of Orange. Unlike most knights and squires, Jimmy prefers clever thinking and new ideas over relying on sheer strength. Cat the Princess, whose full name is Catherine, is a tomboy who often joins Jimmy and Henri on their quests, much to the dismay of her elders. She dreams of becoming a knight and is very acrobatic. Cat has two main outfits: a full-length princess dress with a chest plate, and a Princess Knight outfit with a shorter skirt and chain mail legs that look similar to what the other knights and squires wear. In one episode, she changes her outfit to honor the Swan, and the black rats call her Little Swan. Henri of Orange is Jimmy’s father, a good-natured but somewhat clueless knight. He supports his son’s eccentric ways but worries about bringing Cat along on dangerous missions. Henri is a talented musician who rarely goes anywhere without his mandolin, Mandy, and rides his horse, Torpedo. He focuses on doing his knightly duties without seeking fame. The Queen, Cat’s mother, is voiced by the same actor as Jimmy. She disapproves of Cat’s adventures but admits she once admired the Swan, a hero in a black suit from her youth. It later comes out that she was the Swan herself, though she is out of practice and older now. The Knight of Red trains the squires for knighthood, acting like a stereotypical gym coach and always carrying a whistle. Perlin is the kingdom’s wizard, a bit absent-minded. Colbert is a short monk with glasses who assigns quests from the Quest Desk. In the episode Fearless Colbert, it is revealed he trained as a knight but failed because of his small size, then ended up at the Quest Desk as a youth and kept the job by hiding his failure. Ronnie Flash, voiced by the same actor as Cat, is a young boy around Jimmy and Cat’s age who works as a news reporter in Epic.
