Cadderly Bonaduce

R. A. Salvatore's scholar-cleric of Deneir.

Cadderly Bonaduce is a scholar-cleric and the hero of The Cleric Quintet, a series of five Forgotten Realms novels by R. A. Salvatore.

Lore & Background

In the series he tries to stop the Chaos Curse, a potion that makes everyone who breathes it lose self-control, which the priest Barjin has opened in the Edificant Library; Cadderly has to break a memory-blocking spell to lift it. The books also trace a spiritual journey: he starts out treating his religion as a way of life and grows closer to his god, Deneir. Salvatore created him after finishing six Drizzt books; he was first planned as a monk, and Mary Kirchoff suggested making him a cleric instead. His companions include Danica Maupoissant and the dwarf brothers Ivan and Pikel Bouldershoulder.
