Osskil is a northern island of Earthsea with cold, snowy winters; its people have lighter, sallow complexions than those of the Archipelago.

Lore & Background

Chased by the shadow in A Wizard of Earthsea, Ged flees to Osskil, having heard of the stone of the Terrenon. He escapes the shadow into the Court of Terrenon, where Serret, lady of the castle and the girl he once tried to impress, shows him the stone and urges him to speak to it.
