Children of the Sun
The countryside cult that worships the Mother and her gift of immunity.
The Children of the Sun are a religious cult in Dying Light: The Following. When Kyle Crane travels to the countryside outside Harran to investigate a supposed cure, he finds that many of the survivors there have converted to the cult, which worships the Mother as the apparent source of their immunity to the virus. To earn its trust and learn more, Crane assists the survivors.
Lore & Background
The Faceless, the cult's high-ranking members, privately admit to Crane that their immunity comes from a special elixir which, like Antizin, only suppresses the infection rather than curing it, and promise him a permanent cure in exchange for his help. The cult believes in a prophecy that a chosen one will rise to become the prophet of the God of the Sun and purify the infection. The Mother was Jasmine, the wife of a local military Colonel, and the elixir from the dam's secret military facility has turned her into a sentient volatile.
