Virals are the infected in Dying Light that can run quickly, in contrast to the slow, low-level Biters, the Bombers that explode at close range and the Volatiles that only come out at night.

In Dying Light 2 Stay Human Techland gave the zombies a life cycle: newly bitten zombies are Virals, fast and dangerous enemies whose humanity still remains, and they go on to become Biters, the regular zombies, which under long exposure to UV light devolve into Degenerates.
