Water of Life

The poison a Fremen Reverend Mother must transform.

The Water of Life is the poisonous exhalation of a dying sandworm. In the Fremen ordeal to become a Reverend Mother the candidate drinks it and neutralises the poison. In Dune, Jessica undergoes the ritual while pregnant, gaining the outgoing Reverend Mother Ramallo's memories and Other Memory, and her unborn daughter Alia is affected in the womb.
