Chiaotzu

Tien Shinhan's small, psychic best friend.

Chiaotzu is a small, pale human with red cheeks and a single hair under his hat. He is not physically strong but is skilled at psychokinesis and telepathy, and is Tien Shinhan's constant companion.

Story

He first appears at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament as a pupil of Master Shen, Master Roshi's rival, out to kill Goku and his friends. When Tien rejects Shen's teaching, the two leave him and join Goku against King Piccolo, who kills Chiaotzu before he is revived with the Dragon Balls. Against the Saiyans he blows himself up on Nappa to save Tien, to no effect, trains with King Kai in the afterlife and is brought back by the Namekian Dragon Balls. After Frieza's return he largely stops fighting but keeps training with Tien.
