Donna's narrative arc spans from her accidental arrival in the TARDIS to becoming the 'DoctorDonna'. In Series 4, she convinced the Doctor to save a family in Pompeii and defended the Ood from human abuse. Her most pivotal moment occurred in 'Journey's End' (2008) when she touched the Doctor's energised hand, merging with Time Lord energy to stop Davros. This transformation saved reality but required her memories of travel to be wiped to prevent her mind from burning up. Years later, in 2023's 'The Star Beast', her daughter Rose inherited part of this metacrisis, stabilizing Donna enough to restore her memories and return the DoctorDonna persona to defeat Beep the Meep.

In 'Forest of the Dead', she was trapped in a cyber world with digital replications of her children Lee McAvoy and their offspring. The parallel universe episode 'Turn Left' showed the catastrophic consequences if they never met. Her story concluded in 2023 when the Fourteenth Doctor bi-generated the Fifteenth; Donna encouraged him to stay on Earth with her family, where he acknowledged living with them was his happiest time.
