Bangor Lumberjacks
Independent Northeast League team that moved from New York and folded after two seasons.
The Bangor Lumberjacks were an independent minor league baseball team in the Northeast League, based in Bangor, Maine. The franchise relocated from Glens Falls, New York, after 2002, where it had been the Adirondack Lumberjacks and won three league titles. In Maine, the team played at Orono’s Larry Mahaney Diamond in 2003 and Bangor’s Winkin Sports Complex in 2004. Despite a 56-36 record and the league’s top two ERAs in 2004, the Lumberjacks lost in the first playoff round and never won a championship in Maine. The Northeast League revoked Bangor’s membership after 2004, and the team folded.
