The castle bomb-defusal map that returned in the Winter Offensive update.
Cobblestone (de_cbble), formerly known as Cobble, is a bomb defusal map featured in the Counter-Strike series. It was added to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in the Winter Offensive update alongside the map Overpass. Cobblestone is a large-sized map: bombsite A is located right next to the Counter-Terrorist spawn, and bombsite B is located around a large statue.

Background
The map was designed by David Johnston after completing Dust. He first created a castle map, cs_cstle, which was rejected due to gameplay issues, and then quickly made a new castle-themed map, de_cbble, designed around similar principles as Dust. Cobble first appeared in Beta 6.5. Cobblestone was re-introduced to Global Offensive as part of the December 18, 2013 update, with a major graphical and strategic overhaul: nearly all of the crates were replaced with more realistic props and the hallways filled with museum artifacts.
Did You Know?
- Cobblestone was removed from Active Duty in the April 20, 2018 update and replaced with Dust 2.
- On the March 19, 2019 update, Cobblestone was removed from Competitive Matchmaking due to its low popularity and complaints after the Halloween Update.
