Background
Only a person with magical powers can open the book's seal, which is how Sakura learns she can do magic. Cerberus, the book's appointed guardian, emerges from it and chooses her to recapture the cards with the Sealing Staff, which seals the card spirits back into card form and serves as the conduit for all of her abilities. After Sakura becomes master of the cards and converts them into Sakura Cards, the Clow Book becomes the Sakura Book.
