Plot

Teenage brothers Nick, 18, and Tyler, 14, encounter a small UFO that lands in front of their truck on an empty road near their town. After evading government agents, particularly Agent Armstrong, and hiding the UFO, Tyler undergoes dramatic physical changes from a trip into space via the craft, gaining enhanced strength and telepathy. The situation is complicated by Nick's focus on pursuing Julie Gunn and completing a science project to graduate high school, as well as the appearance of reptile-like aliens pursuing Tyler. With no one else to turn to, Tyler informs Agent Armstrong about the UFO. Armstrong explains the effects of Tyler's space journey, then shoots the ship with a laser gun, critically damaging it, and reveals himself as one of the aliens in disguise before capturing Tyler. Feeling guilty, Nick goes to the UFO hideout, finds Tyler missing and the UFO damaged, and repairs its biological parts overnight. The UFO takes him to the aliens' hidden caves, whose entrance is an impact crater from their crash-landing. Nick frees Tyler, and they learn the aliens plan to pollute Earth's atmosphere. Tyler uses an alien explosive from the UFO to destroy the aliens and their equipment, and the brothers escape in the UFO. A surviving alien, possibly Armstrong, chases them in a more powerful version of the craft.
