Premise
The series is set in a suburban town and centers on a typical family consisting of a father, mother, son, and baby sister. The main characters are the son, Charley, and his almost anthropomorphic teddy bear Mimmo. Charley and his family and friends are penguin/seal-like creatures with round orange clown-like noses, penguin-like feet and coloring, and mitten-like hands. They live in a warm area rather than Antarctica. Most characters are black and white, though some are brown. In French, Charley is called T'choupi and Mimmo is called Doudou.
Characters
Charley, voiced by Samuel Holden, is a typical average child between four and seven years old. He is smart for his age but occasionally bossy, frequently starts arguments, and tends to get upset, angry, or jealous quickly, later regretting it. He sometimes lies and has a slightly disapproving character. Lola (voiced by Sonja Ball) and Ted (voiced by Rick Jones) are Charley and Franny's parents. Franny (voiced by Sonja Ball) is Charley's baby sister who mostly speaks gibberish. Lily (voiced by Sonja Ball) is a girl friend of Charley with curly black pigtails; she has a female teddy bear that Mimmo falls in love with. Grandpa (voiced by Walter Massey) and Grandma (voiced by Thelma Farmer) are Charley's grandparents. Pauli (voiced by Alfee Kaufman) is a friend with reddish-brown and white fur, curly hair, and freckles. Paula (voiced by Susan Glover) is another friend with brown fur and blonde hair with bangs.
