1963-64 Bundesliga Inauguration

Founder members thanks to the last championship.

The German FA voted at a meeting in Dortmund in 1962 to set up a professional national league, the Bundesliga, starting in August 1963. Borussia Dortmund qualified for its first sixteen places by winning the last national championship before it, in 1963.
