Making and release
The concept for #7DaysLater was created by Daley Pearson and Nick Boshier from Ludo Studio.[3] A multi-platform comedy series called #7DaysLater, where audience online pitches were turned into episodes within a week, was put out by the studio in 2013.[4] The Australian Broadcasting Corporation gave the go-ahead for this series, which was their first interactive comedy commission.[4] An initial order of 52 episodes for Bluey was jointly commissioned by the ABC and the BBC.[5]
The entire production of the series took place at the studio's South Brisbane location.[5]
What the cited sources add
A Screen Queensland release notes The Strange Chores was presented by Screen Australia and ABC in association with Film Victoria and Screen Queensland.[6] Ludo Studio's website states the studio employs over fifty creatives and producers on their original productions.[2] The same source reports Bluey is the most popular show in ABC iview history and the No.1 most streamed series in the US for Disney+.[2] Ludo Studio's website also states the studio created and wrote the original concept screenplay that became A24's horror breakout feature Talk to Me.[2]
The Screen Business Export Award was given because Bluey's sale to Disney made it the first Australian series to be available on Disney+.[7]
