The Heeler House
The Heelers' old Queenslander home and its poinciana-shaded backyard.
The Heeler family lives in an old two-storey Queenslander at the end of a cul-de-sac in Brisbane, with a front yard and a backyard that looks out over the city centre. The show's houses are modelled on Brisbane's high-set Queenslanders with their verandas.
Background
The backyard, where the family usually plays outside, is dominated by a big royal poinciana tree with a bench around its trunk, and also has a sandpit, shed, trampoline, patio and fish pond. Frisky and Radley marry in this backyard, and in The Sign the house is put up for sale before the deal falls through.
