Valencia is the largest territory in the world of Black Desert Online. It covers the eastern half of the continent, bordering Mediah to the west, the isolated Land of Demons to the north, the Republic of Calpheon across the sea to the north-west and the Snowlands to the south. Most of it is taken up by the Black Desert, formally the Great Valencian Desert. The region is home to the Kingdom of Valencia, ruled by King Sahazad Nesser.

Background
In ancient times a black meteorite struck the land, scattering the fragments later known as Black Stones across the desert. By one in-game account the land was founded by the Kabua tribe, whose first king was Edana, and the Bashim are said to have lived there as long as civilization itself. In 233 the fifth king, Imur Nesser, tried to use the desert's Ancient Men in a plan of conquest; the Aakman Tribe kept stopping him until he massacred them, which rumour links to the Black Death. In 236 the western alliance invaded during the Calpheon-Valencia War and was driven back, and in 266 Dahad Seric of Calpheon and his army were buried by a sandstorm, leaving Valencia the victor. Sahazad Nesser took the throne in 282. The region draws on Middle Eastern and Arab cultures for its religion, architecture and landscape.
