Lore & Background
Lau often agrees to do things before learning what is happening, and jumps into conversations with helpful information only to state later that he was clueless on the topic. Although he acts carefree, comical and easy-going, he can be very cold-blooded and cryptic, willing to go further than Ciel would: he had Harold West and his wife Mina killed because they cheated in a curry competition. He is always seen with his personal assassin Ran-Mao, a Chinese, doll-like girl referred to as his sister, although not by blood, who rarely speaks and is very loyal to him.
Reader's Guide
In the manga, Lau is the one who informs Ciel about the Aurora Society, the cult that appears to revive the dead. In the first anime season, whose story diverges from the manga, Lau frames Ciel for trafficking a new drug and flees; when Ciel confronts him on his junk, the Scotland Yard inspector Fred Abberline takes a fatal blow meant for Ciel, and Sebastian kills Lau.
