Phantomhive Manor

An exact replica of the original estate located outside London, serving as the fortress for the Queen's Watchdog.

The Phantomhive manor belongs to the Phantomhive family and is located outside the city of London. It stands as an exact replica of the original estate, which was burned after Earl Vincent and Countess Rachel were murdered. The current head of the family is Ciel Phantomhive, a thirteen-year-old boy who runs the famous Funtom Company from this base. In addition to serving as a residence for Ciel and his devoted servants, the manor functions as the headquarters for the Queen's secret executive agency. Often called the "Aristocrats of Evil" or the "Queen's Watchdogs," the family uses the estate to manage the underworld of the United Kingdom, ensuring no information reaches the general public.

Lore & Background

The history of this estate is defined by tragedy and a strict contract. The original manor was destroyed when Ciel's parents, Vincent and Rachel Dalles-Phantomhive, were murdered. Following these deaths and prior to meeting Sebastian, Ciel was enslaved by a cult and scheduled for ritual sacrifice; during a session, his twin brother was sacrificed, causing the demon Sebastian to be summoned. Ciel then made a Faustian contract with Sebastian instead of the cultists, commanding the demon to kill everyone in the room.

The current manor is a perfect reconstruction of the lost home where Ciel now resides. Inside, five servants operate under the guise of household staff but are actually trained protectors: Baldroy the cook, Finnian the gardener, Mey-Rin the maid, Tanaka the house steward, and Snake the footman. Tanaka previously served Earl Vincent and Lady Rachel but has not been seen doing work for Ciel. The estate is a place where the laws of nature bend to Sebastian's demonic nature; his contract mark on his left hand allows him to find Ciel wherever he is when exposed.

Reader's Guide

Visiting or understanding the manor requires recognizing its dual nature as a home and a fortress. The estate is located outside the city of London; the family's role as Queen Victoria's Watchdogs is known only to selected individuals in polite society. The atmosphere is one of secrecy and devotion; the servants are deeply loyal to Ciel, having been personally chosen and trained by Sebastian (except Tanaka). Security is paramount: the staff provides much comic relief but is lethal when necessary.

Baldroy can create explosions with fine flour, Finnian possesses strength capable of sabotage, and Mey-Rin is a sharpshooter despite her clumsiness. The house protects Ciel from external threats while he executes his revenge for the humiliation and torture he endured. Visitors should note that the name "Sebastian" was given by Ciel after the contract formed, named after the family's late black Borzoi dog. The family also runs the Funtom Company, a famous toy and confectionery corporation, which added a food branch after winning a Royal Warrant.
