The war against the Highbreed is the main story of the first two seasons of Ben 10: Alien Force and ends in the two-part episode "War of the Worlds". The Highbreed hold their own species to be purer and mightier than any other and mean to rid the galaxy of the life forms they consider impure; their servants are the DNAliens.

The story starts when Max Tennyson disappears while investigating the Highbreed plot and Ben puts the Omnitrix back on. With Gwen and Kevin he finds a Highbreed base that produces Xenocytes, parasites that turn humans into DNAliens. Max sacrifices himself to destroy a Highbreed factory and is carried into the Null Void. The Highbreed build a hyperspace gateway on Earth to bring in their fleet.

In "War of the Worlds" Paradox and Azmuth warn Ben that the Highbreed fleet is coming. Gwen and Kevin gather every ally the team has met, and Azmuth unlocks the Omnitrix's Master Control. Ben, Gwen and Kevin board the Highbreed head ship, where Max and the Plumbers' Helpers come to their aid from the Null Void. The team then travels to the Highbreed home world Augstaka to face the Highbreed Supreme. There Ben has the Omnitrix send out a pulse that attaches alien DNA to every Highbreed, which repairs the genetic damage that was killing the species. Reinrassig III becomes the new Highbreed Supreme and calls off the war.
