Reader's Guide

To understand Jayce Talis, one must look at his origins as a scientist and inventor in Piltover who co-created Hextech with Viktor. He is voiced by Kevin Alejandro, while young Jayce is played by Faustino Duran. His story is set against the backdrop of the series' release in November 2021 (Season 1) and November 2024 (Season 2). Key to his character is his relationship with Viktor, a former assistant to Cecil B. Heimerdinger who mentors Jayce alongside Ekko later in the timeline.

Jayce also interacts with Mel Medarda, a council member who begins a relationship with him after taking an interest in their experiments. The production of Arcane differed from standard industry practices by partnering with Fortiche and targeting an adult-minded market. Fans should note that while the series received critical acclaim for its animation and writing, the pacing of the second season saw mixed responses. Jayce's role as a councilor and inventor remains central to the conflict between Piltover and Zaun.
