Exposed (American game show)

Description

The show's premise centered on lie detection software. An initial dater and a friend introduced themselves, with the friend monitoring the date from a recreational vehicle (RV). The date involved the dater simultaneously asking questions of two potential mates, followed by individual questions during a "hot seat" portion. All statements made by the daters were analyzed through lie detection software, and the friend in the RV relayed via earpiece whether a statement was truth or lie.

At the date's conclusion, the dater revealed that statements had been processed through the software, typically eliciting shocked reactions. The dater then asked both contestants if they wished to "come clean" about anything, offering a final chance to admit a lie; commonly neither responded despite both having lied. The dater returned to the RV to consult with the friend before confronting the two daters, exposing one or more notable lies, then announcing their choice.

Each episode ended with a disclaimer stating the Voice Stress Analyzer was used for entertainment purposes only, not operated by a trained professional or under reliable conditions, and that no accuracy representations were made. Some viewers believed the show was fake, noting that contestants from Next also appeared on Exposed.
