Format

The program uses a format similar to the blind audition rounds of The Voice and features three stages of competition. Four single celebrity contestants, usually male (though the opposite configuration with four female celebrities also occasionally occurs), compete to fill teams of three possible dates. In the first stage, the blind audition, the celebrities listen to potential dates give their first impressions while their chairs are turned away so they cannot see them.

Each celebrity has about 30 seconds to decide if they are interested in that person. Each celebrity must select three people for their team; those who have already chosen three must still wait until the contestant finishes their first impression before seeing them. Celebrities turn their chairs to indicate interest; if multiple celebrities want the same person, the prospective date makes the final choice of which celebrity they would most like to date.

The second phase is a speed-dating round where celebrities learn more about their three potential dates. Male and female contestants rotate to meet each other, with about 15 seconds to ask questions. At the end of each interval, the celebrity's chair is turned to signal the next pair to begin. After this round, each celebrity eliminates one contestant.

The third and final round brings out the two remaining contestants one at a time. Each is asked a single question about a topic relating to their interests, families, or personal lives. After both answer, the celebrity turns their chair to decide whom they are most interested in dating. The celebrity then comes onstage to reveal to the host, audience, and remaining contestants which of the two they have chosen to go on a date with.
