Premise
The series is set in the magical land of Puddlebrook and follows Butterbean, a fairy who opens and works in her own café with help from her sister Cricket and friends Poppy, Dazzle, and Jasper. The café's patrons are anthropomorphic chipmunks and rabbits. Next door, grumpy Ms. Marmalady plots to put Butterbean out of business but always fails. A running gag involves a character breaking the fourth wall in a documentary-style confession. The fairies work together to create treats; if successful, Butterbean plants a colorful surprise bean that produces special effects, which she calls 'The Fairy Finish'.
Characters
Butterbean (voiced by Margaret Ying Drake in the US and Lily Wilmott in the UK) is a fairy who owns the café; her wings have sprinkles and her cooking tool is a whisk. Cricket (voiced by Gabriella Pizzolo in the US and Amelie Halls in the UK) is Butterbean's younger sister; her wings have hearts and her tool is an icing bag. Poppy (voiced by Kirrilee Berger in the US and Alisia-Mai Goscomb in the UK) runs the kitchen; her wings have flowers and her tool is a kitchen spoon. Dazzle (voiced by Olivia Grace Manning in the US and Imogen Sharp in the UK) runs the front counter and is an embodiment of an African girl; her wings have stars and her tool is a stylus. Jasper (voiced by Koda Gursoy for season 1 and Quinn Breslin for season 2 in the US, and Eric O'Carroll in season 1 and Alexander James in season 2 in the UK) is a fairy delivery boy; his wings have a lightning and his tool is a spatula. Cookie is a winged, flying cat who lives in the café. Ms. Marmalady (voiced by Alysia Reiner in the US and Judy Emmett in the UK) is the main antagonist; her café gets few customers because her products are sub-par. She has a sister named Martha. Spork and Spatch (both voiced by Chris Phillips in the US and Mike Cross in the UK) are her bumbling monkey employees. Marzipan is a dark grey cat owned by Ms. Marmalady.
