Construction

Construction of the carrier began after a contract was issued on July 29, 1991, and it was completed between 1992 and 1995.[2]

Circum-Pacific War

After the Scinfaxi attack, the Kestrel was placed in reserve at Kirwin Island with no replacement pilots.[3]

Razgriz operations

The Kestrel later operated under the direct command of President Vincent Harling and launched the Razgriz Squadron on covert sorties.[4]

Etymology

The carrier's name comes from the kestrel, a type of falcon.[5]
