Overview
The series follows a basic format in which Jett, a talking plane, interacts with other Super Wings at the World Airport (seasons 1–3), World Aircraft (seasons 4–7), or World Spaceport (seasons 8–present) before being called to a delivery. Jimbo or Sky gives Jett facts about the location and local language, which he uses to interact with the child ordering the package. When a problem occurs, Jett calls for help from one or more Super Wings, who join him to solve it.
In Season 2, the interaction segments were dropped, Jimbo was replaced by his niece Sky while he took a world vacation, and typically more than one Super Wing ended up with Jett. Season 3 brought back the interaction segment, Jimbo returned as a maintenance technician, and Jett received help from a specialized team rather than a random selection; the episode count dropped from 52 to 40. Season 4 introduced World Aircraft, a giant mobile airport with Jimbo as captain and Sky as communications officer.
Children now called the Super Wings to request specialized products manufactured by Storm, shipped in metal containers. Jett gained a regular travel buddy and a Rescue Rider talking dragon, and received upgrades via a Super Charge beam instead of help from other characters, though other Super Wings and dragons appeared randomly. The episode count remained at 40.
Characters
Jett, a red and white male jet plane, is the main protagonist who delivers packages to children worldwide. He is the fastest aircraft, full of energy and confidence, and calls on the Super Wings when difficulties arise due to his naivety or incompetence. His original power was Jett Speed, but he later gained the ability to adapt to any environment and competency. In Season 5, he acquired a Super Pet called Mini Jett or Jett Pet.
At the end of the first two-part special of Season 6, he became a Legendary Super Wing and entered the Hall of Fame, and was upgraded in Season 8. Dizzy is a pink and white female rescue helicopter equipped with rescue ropes and emergency equipment. She is Jett's best partner and is dispatched when he is in critical situations. In Season 3, she became leader of the Rescue Riders, formed with her siblings Zoey (an ambulance) and Sparky (a fire truck). In Season 5, she received a Super Pet called Mini Dizzy or Dizzy Pet, and was upgraded in Season 8.
