Plot

Set in the not so near future, JHC Motors creates WatchCars, miniature sentient robotic cars that become global companions. The WatchCar Battle League pits these cars and their trainers against each other. Jino, a young Watch Car Master, enters the league with his Watch Car Bluewill, aiming to defeat the undefeated champion Kai. Meanwhile, the evil Black Shadows organization uses Monster WatchCars to eliminate all WatchCars.

Characters

Jino is a strong and invincible fighter who can be arrogant and expects things to come easily, but learns the value of hard work through his friends. He leads efforts against the Black Shadows and handles the Mind Keys, as his Watch Car Bluewill is the next-generation Watch Car. Defeated by Kai in the first episode, Jino then gains a winning streak and befriends Kai in the finale. His father Mac is biased, giving his own child a major upgrade in front of everyone.

Bluewill is the only Watch Car possessing the Mind Keys and has a romantic interest in Sona. After losing to Kai, Bluewill suffers amnesia, which Jino helps him recover from. Their battles against league opponents and the Black Shadows strengthen their bond. Blood is a powerful Watch Car capable of defeating even Bluewill.

Roy is observant, highly intelligent, and the master of flame; his Watch Car Avan has fire-related abilities. Roy runs and bikes often, reads books, and is childhood friends with Ari, in whom he has a romantic interest, revealed in the episode Lost Cupid's Arrow. He becomes jealous when Ari briefly dates Hans, who was using her to sabotage Jino and Bluewill. Roy comforts Ari afterward.

When Ari learns of his feelings, she initially rejects him but later says she will think about accepting him. Roy is one of the Twelve Masters and has faced Kai before. He is sensitive to physical stimuli and dislikes having his photo taken. He often clashes with Jino, but Ari and Maru mediate. Avan shares Roy's personality, being serious and harsh yet caring, and sacrifices his own life for others.
