The Legion of Super-Heroes is a DC Comics team of superpowered beings from the 30th and 31st centuries, created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino; they first appeared in Adventure Comics #247 (April 1958) and were inspired by the feats of Superboy.

Lore & Background

In the fourth season of Young Justice, the Legion travels back in time to save Superboy, their inspiration, from an enemy later revealed to be Lor-Zod. Saturn Girl, Phantom Girl and Chameleon Boy secretly follow Superboy, Miss Martian and Beast Boy to Mars, and Phantom Girl transports Superboy to the Phantom Zone when he is apparently killed. Brainiac 5 makes a cameo.
