Gaianism
Earth-centered philosophy viewing the planet as a superorganism.
Gaianism is an earth-centered philosophical and holistic worldview that draws on the Gaia hypothesis, which views Earth as a self-regulating superorganism. It shares expressions with earth religions and paganism but does not identify exclusively with any specific one. The philosophy implies a transpersonal devotion to Earth, though it is not necessarily religious. Gaianism has been described by Marcel Wissenburg as a modern variant of philosophical determinism and is associated with the New Age movement, though not strictly part of it. Practitioners, called Gaians or Gaianists, typically honor the Earth, seek to reduce human impact, and respect all life.
