Playing career

Logan Stanley started his hockey journey with the Waterloo Wolves in the AHMMPL. The Windsor Spitfires picked him 12th overall in the first round of the 2014 OHL Priority Draft, and he committed to the team on May 9, 2014, to play for coach Bob Boughner. He also took part in IIHF tournaments and development camps. On December 7, 2016, Stanley signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Winnipeg Jets. During the 2016-17 season, he hurt his knee in January and didn't return to the ice until April. On May 28, 2017, he helped the Windsor Spitfires win the Memorial Cup. He was traded to the Kitchener Rangers on August 8, 2017, but the Spitfires still gave him the Scott Miller Extra Mile Award at the end of that season. Stanley was invited to the Jets' training camp before the 2017-18 NHL season but didn't make the team and was sent back to the OHL. While playing for Kitchener in 2017-18, he got a two-game suspension for head-checking Akil Thomas of the Niagara IceDogs. After the Rangers were knocked out of the 2018 OHL playoffs, the Jets sent him to the Manitoba Moose. Following the Jets' 2018 training camp, he was assigned to the Moose to start his first pro season. Stanley finally cracked the Jets' lineup for the 2020-21 NHL season. In his rookie year, he had his first NHL fight on March 24, 2021, against Zack MacEwen of the Vancouver Canucks, and then scored his first NHL goal on March 27, 2021, beating David Rittich of the Calgary Flames in a 4-2 Jets loss. The Jets re-signed him to a two-year, $1.8 million contract on August 4, 2021. On August 19, 2023, they gave him a one-year, $1 million deal. On July 6, 2024, they signed him to another two-year contract worth $2.5 million. On March 6, 2026, the Jets traded Stanley and Luke Schenn to the Buffalo Sabres for Jacob Bryson, Isak Rosen, a conditional 2026 fourth-round pick, and a 2027 second-round pick.
