Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Die Schwaben?

Die Schwaben is the collective nickname for the fan community of VfB Stuttgart, drawn from the broader Swabian regional identity of Baden-Württemberg. It is not a single organised group but a shared cultural claim: when a Stuttgart supporter calls themselves a Schwabe, they are tying the club to centuries of local heritage rather than just a football brand.

Where do Die Schwaben watch their matches?

The home ground for Die Schwaben is the MHPArena in Stuttgart, where the red-and-white stands have hosted fans since the club's founding in 1893. The atmosphere reflects the Swabian temperament—grounded, loyal, and unshakeable rather than theatrically loud.

What does it mean to be a Schwabe beyond football?

The Swabian identity is long associated with meticulous craftsmanship, quiet stubbornness, and a self-confidence that never needs to shout. In a VfB context, that translates into a fan base that carries five German league titles with a calm pride, refusing to bow to bigger rivals simply because they know their own worth.

How does Die Schwaben differ from other German supporter scenes?

Rather than leaning on formal ultra structures or elaborate choreography, Die Schwaben draw their cohesion from shared cultural pride and a stubborn, generational loyalty to the club. Their identity is less about spectacle and more about a quiet, unbothered declaration: we are Swabians, we have been here, and we are not going anywhere.
