El Dorado
The cursed golden sarcophagus of Drake's Fortune.
El Dorado, "the golden one", is a large golden sarcophagus at the centre of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and it also appears in the multiplayer of A Thief's End. It weighs over 20 arrobas, roughly 500 pounds. Inside lies a mummified body carrying an airborne pathogen that turns those infected into aggressive, animal-like creatures.

Background
The sarcophagus was first kept in an ancient temple in the Amazon rainforest and worshipped by the local people. In the sixteenth century Spanish conquistadors raided the temple and shipped the sarcophagus on the Esperanza to a remote Pacific island, where it was stored in a treasure vault. When it was opened, the colony was overrun, and the mutated Spanish settlers became the descendants who haunt the island.
