The Frontier is the setting of the Titanfall games: the deepest reaches of explored space, where humanity lives on derelict and war-torn colonies at the fringe of exploration. Most people never travel this far from normal civilization, but for pioneers, explorers, mercenaries, outlaws and soldiers it offers adventure and opportunity. Corporations such as Hammond Robotics use its resources to build Titans and Spectres, and Titans are widespread in both combat and civilian life, though a fully certified Titan Pilot is a rare find.
Lore & Background
The Frontier's shipping lanes and planetary resources drew the IMC, while the Frontier Militia, the military arm of the Frontier systems' territorial defense pact, resists its use of colony resources; the war between them is known as the Titan Wars. Planets named in the games include Demeter, site of the IMC fueling facility MacAllan destroys, Troy, where the Militia hides from the IMC, Harmony, home of the Militia headquarters, and Typhon, the setting of Titanfall 2.
