Leatherface
The masked, chainsaw-wielding killer at the centre of every Texas Chainsaw film since 1974.
Leatherface is the main antagonist of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise: an intellectually disabled, disfigured killer who wears masks made from his victims' faces and kills with a chainsaw. He first appeared in Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), and the character was partly inspired by the murderer Ed Gein.

Background
He always lives with a family of cannibals, and the family changes with the continuity: the Sawyers of the original films (where his name is Bubba), the Hewitts of the 2003 remake and its prequel (where he is Thomas Brown Hewitt), and the Sawyers again in Texas Chainsaw 3D and Leatherface (2017), where he is Jedidiah Sawyer. The masks are his defining trait; Gunnar Hansen and co-creator Kim Henkel both said that he becomes whoever he wears. He has been played by Gunnar Hansen (1974), Bill Johnson (1986), R. A. Mihailoff (1990), Robert Jacks (1995), Andrew Bryniarski (2003 and 2006), Dan Yeager (2013), Sam Strike (2017) and Mark Burnham (2022), and Kane Hodder plays him in the 2023 video game.
