T-850
An advanced guardian reborn from the ashes of war to protect humanity's last hope.
T-850 is the designation used in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines for Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator; the film's novelization describes it as a newer, upgraded version of the T-800. In the film a T-850 is reprogrammed by the human resistance and sent back to protect John Connor and his future wife Kate Brewster from Skynet's T-X.

Lore & Background
This T-850 is revealed to have killed John in 2032, having been chosen because of John's emotional attachment to the identical-looking model of Terminator 2. After being captured by the resistance, it was reprogrammed to follow Kate's orders. It is powered by two hydrogen fuel cells, one of which it discards after being damaged by the T-X.
Reader's Guide
The T-X uses its nanites to take control of the T-850's autonomous functions and sends it to kill John and Kate; John gets it to shut down by pointing out the conflict between its actions and its programmed mission, and it later reboots free of the T-X's control. As John and Kate retreat to a bunker, the T-850 battles the T-X and uses its remaining fuel cell to destroy them both.
