Caleb Thayne is Jake Thayne's younger brother and the Judge of the Court of Shadows on Earth. He follows the legacy of Tenlucis and holds the Divine Blessing of Umbra. A teacher before the System, he helped children reunite with their parents during the Tutorials, or simply took responsibility for them. He is the son of Robert and Debra, and he and his wife Maja have a son, Adam.

Background
Caleb's calm authority grew from a lifetime of counterbalancing Jake, and before the System he was an elementary school teacher who helped reunite children with their parents during the Tutorials. Umbra directed him to the Legacy of Tenlucis after he stood before her unbowed, his aura resistance built by years near Jake's bloodline. The Court of Shadows was the sixth group to claim a Pylon on Earth; Caleb lives in Skyggen behind heavy defences with his wife Maja, son Adam and parents Robert and Debra. The Legacy's Dark Heavens constantly devour his Records, driving him to gain ever more or be consumed.
