Bluepills

The humans still plugged into the Matrix, unaware of what it is.

In The Matrix, a Bluepill is a human who does not know the true nature of the Matrix. Their bodies stay connected to the machines' power plant while their minds live inside the simulation, and the Resistance also calls them "Coppertops", after disposable batteries.

Background

The name comes from the choice between two pills offered to someone still inside the Matrix: taking the blue pill means going back to that life and forgetting the conversation. Most Bluepills live their whole lives without suspecting the truth, and some, such as police officers, guards, agents and soldiers, are the people Morpheus warns will fight to protect the system. Because they are wired directly into it, an Agent can take over a Bluepill's body at any moment, which makes every one of them a possible threat to a Redpill. In The Matrix Resurrections, the Analyst uses blue pills to keep Neo's memories suppressed.
