Just Another Girl (The Killers song)
A single from The Killers' compilation album Direct Hits.
Last updated
The American rock band The Killers released "Just Another Girl" as the second single from their compilation album Direct Hits. The track debuted on VH1 before moving to mainstream radio. Stuart Price, who previously worked with the band on Day & Age, handled production. In 2013, Brandon Flowers described Price as having become like a brother, praising his musicality and taste, and noted the song differs from "Shot at the Night" by being more narrative in style, drawing the listener in differently.
NME placed it on their Onrepeat list, calling it a perfect Killers song and stating the band no longer sounds like others. Rolling Stone observed the track showcases the group's more restrained side, with Flowers sounding lovelorn and wistful. The music video, directed by Warren Fu and released on November 25, features Dianna Agron portraying Flowers across scenes that recreate iconic Killers videos. It begins with Agron in a feather-shouldered blazer on the Human set alongside Dave Keuning, Ronnie Vannucci Jr., and Mark Stoermer, then moves through sets styled after "When You Were Young," "Spaceman," "Mr. Brightside," and "Runaways."
Filmed at Mack Sennett Studios in Silver Lake, the video ends with both Agron and Flowers singing together, followed by Agron flipping a giant switch that releases confetti, Keuning walking away playing guitar, and the band's Day & Age World Tour "K" prop appearing. Rolling Stone called the video a fun history lesson that fits the Direct Hits context.
