Don't Shoot Me Santa
The Killers' second Christmas single, benefiting AIDS charities.
Last updated
Don't Shoot Me Santa is a song by the Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers. It was released as a digital download, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting AIDS charities through the Product Red campaign. The song is the band's second Christmas download single, following A Great Big Sled from 2006.
Music video
The music video was directed, edited, and co-produced by Matthew Gray Gubler, a Las Vegas native who also works as an actor, director, model, and visual artist. It opens in a desert with puppet versions of Flowers and Santa inside a puppet theater in Santa's trailer. Santa appears and says, I've got a bullet in my gun! Flowers is shown tied up in a chair with Christmas tree trimmings while Santa runs around him.
Later, Flowers is tied up in Santa's car as Santa drives. The scene returns to the trailer, where Flowers watches Santa dig his own grave. The band emerges from behind three small trees, breaks the trimmings, and escapes in Santa's car, towing Santa behind. Santa covers Flowers's puppet and approaches the band in puppet form holding a sign that reads Merry Christmas from The Killers.
