Plot
A bachelor party for Doug, who is about to marry a man named Tracey, is planned as a low-key evening in a small Laughlin, Nevada hotel. To prevent their friend Zach from drugging them, they put him in a straitjacket and a cone, and they stick to non-alcoholic beer. The next morning, they wake up in an unfamiliar room cluttered with party and sex toys, and Doug is gone. A woman named Effing enters, and Zach identifies her as a remake of Effie Trinket.
When Ed opens the door, they see they are on a train heading to the Hungover Games, a deadly competition set in an arena with districts based on Hollywood. A video on Zach’s phone shows that, while drunk the night before, they all volunteered as tributes. To get Doug back to his wedding on time, they must survive the games. At the training center, they encounter other tributes: the gay Thor, Tonto, Gratuitous Nudity (two topless women), Carrie (called Scary), and Teddy.
Ed meets Katnip Everlean, a girl he met drunk who has a crush on him. After training, they are sent to rooms to rise into the arena, but Zach spills boba tea on the control panel, forcing them out. The games start, and tributes begin killing each other. Zach gets separated from Ed and Bradley.
Ed and Bradley flee, spending the night in a tree and witnessing two other tributes die. They spot Zach with the Careers, who has joined them to hunt down and kill Ed and Bradley. In the morning, Bradley drops a hive of Swaggerjacks (wasps) onto the sleeping Careers. Both Bradley and Ed are stung, and the hallucinogenic venom knocks them out.
They wake to find Zach has nursed them back to health, and they resume searching for Doug. Zach explains they ended up in the Hungover Games because he plugged in poisoned midnight berry scented air-fresheners that drugged them, with a label warning they may cause transportation to a futuristic dystopia. Angry, Ed and Bradley leave Zach. Later, after a rule change allows people in a bromance to win as a group, they decide to reunite with him.
