Background
Most share a standard look: short, bald and buck-toothed, with a crown-shaped hat that rises into a cone tipped with a star. Santa Elves work at the North Pole building toys for Santa Claus and are skilled builders of other things too, as the episode Dad Overboard shows; in the 2012 live-action/animated TV film A Fairly Odd Christmas, the elves Christmas Carol and Dingle Dave bring Timmy, his fairies and Tootie to Santa and guide him toward Elmer the Elder Elf to get off the naughty list. Forest elves live in trees and bake for a living, cookies above all, with one tree on the Spellementary School grounds. Shoemaker elves can turn anything into a pair of shoes. Evil elves have grey skin, liver spots and yellow eyes with red pupils, carry maces, swords and axes, and are sworn enemies of unicorns, as Birthday Battle shows.
