Anti-Fairies

The bad-luck opposites of fairies, led by Anti-Cosmo.

Anti-Fairies are a magical race in The Fairly OddParents and the exact opposites of fairies: for every fairy there is an Anti-Fairy counterpart. Where fairies grant wishes, Anti-Fairies use their magic to cause bad luck and misery. They first appear in the Season 2 episode That Old Black Magic.

Background

Friday the 13th is their Christmas, when they go after anyone who breaks a superstition, such as walking under a ladder or breaking a mirror. For centuries they were kept behind a barrier guarded by Jorgen Von Strangle, and some slipped out every Friday the 13th. They are dark blue, with pointed ears, black crowns and wands, and bat wings instead of insect wings, and their magic makes a 'Foop!' sound. They are ruled by the Anti-Fairy Council but usually follow Anti-Cosmo, a sophisticated evil genius. Their power comes from the Big Anti-Fairy Wand, which feeds on disbelief in fairies and children's bad behaviour; in Fairly Odd Baby they and the Pixies used Poof's magic to power it up.
