Background
After the exorcism Arne suffers worsening visions, including an old woman-like apparition. While possessed he stabs his landlord, Bruno Sauls, 22 times, is found wandering the road covered in blood and is charged with murder. Debbie insists the killing was caused by possession, and the Warrens look for evidence to support that defence.
In the psychiatric ward the demon tries to make him kill himself with a glass shard; Debbie holds him back while Ed and Lorraine destroy the altar of the occultist Isla, breaking the curse. At the end of the film he is convicted of manslaughter rather than murder, serves five years, and marries Debbie while in prison.
